Even IF you don't believe....
I was sitting here and thinking something important to me, the fact is I don't celebrate christmas (I have reasons that I will share just not to those that want to argue)and I love kids, so I have this belief that I celebrate it in front of the kids so that they don't lose their innocence of the spirit.. am I the only that believes in this or am I just having delusions.. Discuss....
Re: Even IF you don't believe....
I would have to say that is awfully kind of you and not like some people who just strip their kids of all those fun memories.

Hmmm...whilst I think that you are unselfishly putting aside your beliefs for others, you are compromising your beliefs.
Children are after all the most important in the world...they are our future but they are not stupid either so striking a healthy balance is important too.
Children do understand that various faiths dont infact celebrate Christmas, having other festivals instead. Over here they learn about it in school.
I dont think it unreasonable to explain when they get to an age that they understand that you personally dont celebrate it, but dont wish to spoil the fun.
Its the message of toleration and acceptance I guess that we shud all think about when we want to encompass different faiths and cultures that enrich our own.
I think you are doing the right thing. noone is getting hurt and if you can tolerate the tinsel and trimmingsand all things that glitter then good on you.
